How do I wash my Period Pants?
The best way to care for your period pants is to first rinse them in cold water in the sink.

After that, you can either hand wash with detergent (this will make them last longer) or wash them in the washing machine in a gentle, cold wash (30°).

They can be washed with your other clothes, so no need to put on a separate wash!

Do not tumble dry and if you can, skip the fabric softener🙅‍♀️!

Umm... I have a question?

If you can't find your answer here, please email hiya@hereweflo.co and our customer love team will have the answer you need.

Has Here We Flo absorbed the Period Tax?
Our promise to our customers since Day One of our launch is that we would cover the Period Tax for them on all period products.

We have never charged it on top of the products base price, but rather have always paid the VAT.

We’re really pleased that the government has finally removed the unjust tax on all period products - including period pants, and we were proud to be part of the campaign to repeal the tax, just as we campaigned for the removal of the ‘tampon tax’, because we knew most companies were not covering the tax for their customers.

We are so glad that there will be a price reduction at all the retailers who were not already supporting menstruators in this way.

(We did also reduce our pants price by £5 recently in 2023 to make them more affordable but this was unrelated to VAT, because as mentioned above, we had already committed to covering tax for our customers).
Are Here We Flo Period Products Tax Free?
We aim to be as sustainable & accessible as possible, whilst also providing great quality products that do their job. This means we're always striving to find the right balance between making products that are reliable and eco-friendly.

That's why all of our packaging is either compostable or recyclable. For example, our FLO Non-Applicator Tampons, Bamboo Pads and Bamboo Liners, as well as our glo Bamboo Pads and Liners are all wrapped in 100% compostable, plant-based wrappers. Our Sustainable Tampon Applicators are 95% plant-based (sugarcane) and are also recyclable (please do check locally!).

Our XO! eco-friendly condoms are CO2-neutral and made in a solar-powered factory.

Plus, all of our outer packaging is FSC-certified recyclable and biodegradable cardboard.

We also use none 🙅‍♀️ of the nasties you'll find in conventional tampons and pads - no fragrances, no dyes, no allergens or harsh chemicals like chlorine bleach. Nothing but natural goodness in our products! And ALL of our products are vegan + cruelty-free, certified by PETA and The Vegetarian Society.

We're also working towards becoming a fully CO2-neutral company by the end of 2024!🌱
Could you tell me more about FLO's Period Pants?
Ofc! FLO Reusable Period Pants are a game-changer for your period. Our period-proof undies are ultra-absorbent and hold up to 4 regular tampons worth of heavy menstrual flow through a magical, triple-moisture-wicking gusset. This long moisture-wicking layer covers your front and back, ensuring you stay dry and comfortable - day and night - without any odour. With this built-in period protection, simply wear your leakproof period panties and go - no pads or tampons needed! Each pair is super-soft and sustainably made from BCI Cotton: The Better Cotton Initiative help cotton communities survive and thrive while protecting and restoring the environment. Every pair also gives back to charity, with 5% of profits going to people + planet. At FLO size-inclusivity and body-positivity are really important to us, which is why our period knickers come in sizes S (UK 8) - 3XL (UK 28). This size range means you can find your perfect fit, with each pair of undies hip-hugging and belly-loving you when you need comfort most. Our period pants are also great for teenagers and are a certified climate-neutral product & PETA-approved vegan and cruelty-free. Don't take it from us though, take it from FLO Babe Sarah M: "These have utterly changed my life". Care instructions: FLO, rinse, wash, repeat - rinse used pants in cold water and put them into the washing machine at 30° or lower (avoid bleach and fabric softener). Wash with similar coloured clothes.
How often do you change period pants?
We found that most people use one pair during the day and one during the night, but it all depends on your menstrual FLO! 🩸

If you get through more than 4 tampons a day, we recommend doubling up and using your pants plus an organic tampon/pad!
Will I just be sitting in my period blood with period pants?
Before many people try period pants they wonder this but thanks to the magical gusset 🪄 your blood is pulled into the absorbent layer keeping you comfortable and dry!
Can you use period pants with heavy periods?
If you have a heavy flow we recommend doubling up on products (especially overnight 🌙), e.g tampon & period pants and seeing how you get on
What happens to blood clots when wearing period pants?
If you have the odd blood clot during your heavier days (if this is often please see a doctor 👩‍⚕️) these cannot be wicked up by the top layer of the period pants. Simply wipe this with a tissue and carry on your day.
Can I swim in my period pants?
We are afraid not!

Even though our period underwear has leak-proof magical gusset, it won't keep you protected from leaks while swimming! 🏊‍♂️

Similarly to period pads, period underwear is worn on the outside of your body meaning it will soak up water while swimming and will leave you with surrounded by a red cloud🩸.
Why does Flo use inclusive language?
At Here We Flo, we are committed to using inclusive and empowering language to ensure that everyone who has a period feels welcome and supported. We carefully choose our words to reflect this commitment. Instead of using terms like "female," "women's products," or "feminine care," we opt for language that acknowledges and respects the diverse experiences of all individuals who menstruate. We also don't talk about “hygiene” or "sanitary products" because around here, we know that the vagina is a self-cleaning oven. Our focus is on providing period care that is accessible and affirming for everyone, regardless of gender identity. By doing so, we strive to create a more inclusive space where everyone can embrace life’s messy moments without feeling marginalised or excluded.
